Popular English actress Kym Marsh, best known for starring in the British soap opera Coronation Street and appearing as a presenter on the TV show Morning Live, has married her fiancé Army major Scott Ratcliff. According to a report by OK!, the couple exchanged their vows in an intimate wedding ceremony in the presence of family members and close friends, including her Morning Live co-stars. Kym, 45, and Scott, 32, got engaged in June when the latter proposed to her on her birthday and she gave her nod. "I'm absolutely over the moon – I can't believe it. It's been the best birthday surprise ever. I can't stop smiling!," Kym  said at the time. Kym's dad David too was present, who the actress earlier revealed had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Sharing an emotional film on Morning Live in June about her dad's battle with health issues in which he expresses his regret over not visiting the doctor sooner, David stated that he hoped to motivate other men to look out for symptoms. Kym who struggles to fight back her tears, states, "I am absolutely in awe of him, I really am. Because he's so brave to share that, he just wants to get the message out there in the hope that somebody out there might see it and it might just help someone."

Kym Marsh was introduced to Scott Ratcliff back in 2018 by her Coronation Street co-star Antony Cotton. In an interview to OK! in July, Kym spoke about her wedding plans and revealed that it would be a "stunning" and "military wedding", with Scott informing that he'll be attending the ceremony in his "No. 1 uniform". Speaking about Kym's father's diagnosis, Scott said, "We got engaged to be married. And on the back of some bad news we thought, if we can pull it off let's do it this year, because it's the lift that everyone needs."
