'Chiyaan' Vikram's next film Cobra is currently in its final stages of production and a new glimpse has been shared as a special Christmas treat for the actor's fans on Saturday. Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame Ajay Gnanamuthu, who is directing the upcoming mass action thriller under Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner, took to social media to inform fans that updates from Cobra will take a while but treated them to a shooting spot photo featuring him in discussion with the National Award-winning actor. In the photo, we see Vikram in one among the several different looks he will be sporting in the film, with Ajay Gnanamuthu writing in the caption: "Dear CVFs, Updates will take time🙏🏻🙏🏻 A shooting spot pic for you ❤️❤️ Merry Christmas 🎄🎉🎉 #cobra". Touted to be an espionage action thriller with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, Cobra's plot will revolve extensively around the application of mathematics, with Vikram playing the role of a genius mathematician as was shown in the film's high-octane teaser that was released earlier this year. The teaser showcased the talented actor appearing in different locales around the world in what appeared to be a secret quest his character is taking on  in the film. There were reports sometime back stating that Cobra could be heading for a direct OTT premiere. However, no statement has come from the makers' side yet and an official announcement is awaited, with the current plans for the film's theatrical release still in place. 

Apart from fans looking forward to witnessing Vikram in action on the big screen once again, Cobra also includes in its star cast former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who is making his acting debut, with his character revealed to be a French Interpol officer. Cobra has Vikram paired opposite KGF heroine Srinidhi Shetty, who as well is making her Tamil cinema debut, while the supporting cast has names like Indru Netru Naalai actress Miya George, Super Deluxe fame Mirnalini Ravi, Roshan Matthew, Anandaraj, KS Ravikumar and others in pivotal roles.
