Carnatic singer Bombay Jayashri suffered an aneurysm while touring the United Kingdom (U.K.) on Friday, March 24, according to latest reports. The 58-year-old singer was rushed immediately to the hospital where she underwent surgery, with her condition revealed to be stable. The celebrated vocalist's family has now released a statement on her Instagram Stories, which is as follows: "Bombay Jayashri had a health set back in the United Kingdom where she is currently touring for her concerts. She received timely medical intervention thanks to the capable staff at the NHS and her accompanying artistes. She is currently stable and recovering well, she requires rest for a couple of days.” Requesting privacy, her family added her health status will be updated in due course. Bombay Jayashri was scheduled to perform at the the Tung Auditorium, Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, University of Liverpool, today evening and marks her return to England after almost a decade.
