Vijay's strong show of emotional support for Ajith during these tough times after his father Subramaniam Mani's passing and paying his respects in person has been met with a warm reception from fans.
Ajith and Vijay entered the Tamil film industry around the same time in the early 1990s and have grown to be larger than life stars in their more than three decade career journey. Both stars have shared a healthy relationship and rapport with each other since the beginning and have encouraged their fans to be friendly to each other by upholding messages of brotherhood in their films over the years. On the professional front, Vijay and Ajith have worked together in Rajavin Parvaiyile, which released in 1995. The film featured the duo as friends, with Vijay playing the lead role and Ajith making an appearance in an extended cameo. As for their upcoming projects, Ajith is expected to begin shooting his next big film, the tentatively titled AK 62, after somet time under Subaskaran Allirajah's Lyca Productions banner, which will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander. Vijay, on the other hand, is currently filming Leo under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction, which is being produced by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner and includes music by Anirudh.
