The wait has come to an end for Tamil actor Dhanush fans everywhere as the release date of the two-time National Award winner's next big film, Captain Miller, has now been officially announced. The upcoming period action drama directed by Arun Matheswaran of Rocky (2021) and Saani Kaayidham (2022) fame and featuring songs and a background score composed by National Award-winning music director G. V. Prakash Kumar will open in cinemas worldwide on January 12, 2024, ahead of the Pongal holidays. Captain Miller's latest release date announcement has come along with a new action-packed poster featuring the additional cast starting with Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, who will be seen in the upcoming Tamil film after 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's blockbuster Jailer, followed by youth sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Maanagaram hero Sundeep Kishan.
The new Captain Millerr release date announcement poster also includes the censor details, with the film revealed to be certified 'U/A'. The Dhanush-starrer set during the pre-Independence era has been riding high on anticipation right from the moment it went on floors and the response for the promotional material released so far is testimony to the tremendous excitement surrounding the film. The wait is also on for the Captain Miller trailer considering the film's teaser released on Dhanush's birthday back in July received thunderous feedback from fans everywhere. The action in the teaser delivered on the action front and the new release date announcement poster once again reaffirms that the film will be a massive visual extravaganza to be witnessed in cinemas next year. Captain Miller also stars Merku Thodarchi Malai hero Antony, Sillu Karuppatti actress Nivedhithaa Sathish, Thunivu villain John Kokken, and Malayalam actor Moor appearing in pivotal roles and is the eighth film for the Dhanush-GV Prakash duo after Polladhavan (2007), Aadukalam (2011), Mayakkam Enna (2011), Asuran (2019), Maaran (2022), and Vaathi (2023), and that also includes the recently-announced Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam.
