Leading Tamil actor Dhanush extended his gratitude to Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, for appreciating his latest film, Captain Miller. The two-time National Award winner on Saturday, January 13, posted on X how this praise for his most recent film means a lot to him, while recalling the compliments that came his way for Karnan (2021). Dhanush wrote, "Thank you dear @Udhaystalin brother, you never fail to appreciate art which you like, I still fondly remember the time when you had heaped praises for "Karnan". This appreciation means a lot to me and my Captain Miller team and much thanks to you for the same" (sic)

Earlier yesterday, Udhayanidhi Stalin congratulated the Captain Miller team, including the performances of the entire cast and crew. He wrote, "I express my profound appreciation to the acting mastery of @dhanushkraja, Thiru @nimmashivanna, the vision of director #ArunMadheshwaran, the musical brilliance of brother @gvprakash, along with @sathyajothi, @priyankaamohan, stunt master @dhilipaction, and others for crafting the exceptional film #CaptainMiller." (sic) Highlighting the message conveyed in Captain Miller, Udhayanidhi Stalin stated, "This film powerfully highlights the struggle of the oppressed people for the right to temple entry, skillfully made with the broader narrative of human rights within the backdrop of the freedom struggle." (sic)

Set in the 1930s during the pre-Independence era, Captain Miller opened as a grand Pongal release and has taken a sensational opening in theatres everywhere, with the audience feedback largely positive. The film directed by Arun Matheswaran also has music by National Award-winning composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, who has delivered foot-tapping tunes and a powerful background score once again for a Dhanush-starrer after their previous collaborations Polladhavan (2007), Aadukalam (2011), Mayakkam Enna (2011), Asuran (2019), Maaran (2022), and Vaathi (2023).
