Tamil cinema has been witnessing a radical change over the past decade or so as new-age filmmakers have begun taking the lead landing projects with mega stars and top banners. One among the directors who has shot to the limelight in a span of less than five years after entering mainstream Tamil cinema is Nelson Dilipkumar, who made heads turn with his black comedy, Kolamaavu Kokila, in 2018, starring Nayanthara. Currently awaiting the release of his Doctor with Sivakarthikeyan, Nelson was announced towards the end of last year to be joining hands with superstar Vijay for the tentatively Thalapathy 65 under the Sun Pictures banner.

Nelson, who prior to his entry in Tamil cinema, had already made a name for himself in the world of entertainment, especially in the television circuit, where he made many notable friends, including actors Sivakarthikeyan and Bigg Boss Tamil 3 star Kavin. Celebrating his birthday on Monday, Nelson has been receiving wishes from many popular names in Tamil cinema, with Kavin as well sharing emotional words to wish his friend. Taking to Twitter, Kavin wrote, "If there was an option to give away the remaining of my life to someone, I'll very gladly give it to you and your family & leave, for all your love you have given me.. :) thanks for everything nae.. "Veri" eagerly waiting with the world for your next creation.. happy porandha naal to you.. this porandha naal is gonna be "vaera maari".

Nelson Dilipkumar is set to have a grand birthday in 2021, including a massive year ahead as the much-awaited Thalapathy 65 first look and title will be revealed later today evening in light of Vijay's birthday tomorrow. It is a rare instance that the director and actor working together on the same film are celebrating their birthdays on back-to-back consecutive days, with many fans continuing to shower them non-stop with wishes on social media.
