As we all know, legendary singer S.P.Balasubrahmanyam is critical and is under medication at the ICU ward of MGM Healthcare hospital in Chennai. Leading celebrities and millions of SPB fans across the country are praying for the speedy recovery of the veteran singer and people are eagerly waiting to hear good news from him. SPB’s son Charan has been regularly updating about the health status of his father on a daily basis. Having said that, director Bharathiraja has now called legendary icons like Superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ilaiyaraaja, Vairamuthu, A.R.Rahman to join for a mass prayer tomorrow (August 20) evening at 6 PM from their respective homes.

Bharathiraja has also asked all the fans and well wishers of SPB to join this mass prayer as a mark of love and gratitude. The news has created a good buzz on social media and it looks like a lot of people will indeed take part in this mass prayer from their homes. Bharathiraja has asked everyone to play SPB’s songs and pray for his recovery tomorrow evening.

The veteran director’s official statement read, “En Iniya Thamizh Makkale, In Indian cinema, thanks to his mesmerising voice and mastery in various languages, one voice that has been breathlessly singing melodies soothing our hearts is that of Paadum Nila SPB. Today, we are in tears to know that he is affected by COVID 19. It is heart-wrenching to see film personalities, politicians, people from various walks of lives and general public in sorrow hearing about SPB's health condition. SPB knows only to sow seeds of love.

He is a wonderful artiste. He should be back amongst us soon. We will get him back. Let's all pray mother nature to give SPB to us. Ilayaraja, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vairamuthu, AR Rahman, film actors and actresses, directors, musicians, FEFSI members, producers, theatre owners, distributors and media persons besides billions of SPB fans across the globe will play SPB songs at 6 PM on 20 August at their respective places and pray for his speedy recovery.
