The mass action thriller saw Ajith deliver a thumping performance in each of the characters he portrayed, with fans and critics showering praises on the actor and the director for their valiant effort. After the release of Citizen, Sharavanan Subbaiya made the romantic drama, ABCD, with Shaam in 2005, after which the filmmaker announced his next titled Meendum, with Kathiravan and Natpe Thunai and Dikkiloona fame Anagha in the lead roles.
