Padma Shree award holder Kota Srinivasa Rao is a well-known actor popular for playing negative roles in films. He has acted in over 700 movies in various languages across India. The actor has played significant roles in many films in Telugu since his debut in 1987. He made his debut in Tamil playing the antagonist role in Vikram starrer Saamy. He played a dirty politician and don in Tirunelveli. The actor then pursued many antagonistic roles in many Tamil films acting opposite to leading Tamil actors like 'Thalapthy' Vijay, 'Thala' Ajith, Silambarasan TR, Vishal, Jeeva and others. He has also starred in Hindi films and some Malayalam and Kannada. The actor is known for his thick and commanding voice apt for his role.
Kota Srinivasa Rao was last seen in the Tamil film Saamy 2 starring Vikram which was released in 2018. He also starred in the Telugu film Hero as the father of the lead which was released in 2022. Kannada language Pan-India film Kabza was released on 17th March and the talented actor was also a part of the film. There were media reports that the actor Kota Srinivasa Rao died recently. The reports said the 80-year-old artist died of age-related reasons and it went viral on social media. Following the reports, the actor published a video clarifying that he is very much alive and asked people not to spread in rumours.

Following the video post fans were relieved by the message and have wished him a long life.
