Leading Tamil actor Vishal has announced the happy news of his father G. K. Reddy getting nominated as the ambassador of Fit India Movement. The veteran reputed businessman and film producer has made this big accomplishment at the age of 83, while also garnering a following over the years, with his peers and those in the industry, including fans being bowled over by his enthusiasm for fitness. During the coronavirus lockdown period, when gyms across India remained closed, G. K. Reddy posted a video in which he was seen explaining the importance of staying fit at all times. In that light, Fit India, a flagship programme of the Government of India launched by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019, has now honored and appointed G. K. Reddy as the ambassador of the Fit India Movement. 

Fit India Mission Director Ekta Vishnoi shared a message informing G. K. Reddy's appointment as the Ambassador of the movement. In a statement, she said, "As a prominent name in the fitness arena, you have the power to motivate people to make fitness as a way of life and make India a FIT NATION." Taking to Twitter, Vishal too expressed his happiness at his father's latest big achievement and honor, while also stating how he has served to be a big inspiration for him over the years. Vishal tweeted, "Super happy that my Dad #GKReddy has been nominated as #FitIndiaAmbassador  Hats off to U & your consistency in Fitness even now @ the age of 82,U have always Inspired Me,I am sure U will Inspire many more to become Fitter,Stronger & lead a Healthy Lifestyle  Always Proud of U,GB". On the work front, Vishal, who was last seen in Chakra earlier this year, has begun dubbing for his portions in the upcoming action thriller, Enemy, in which he shares screen space alongside Arya, who is reportedly playing the role of the antagonist. Vishal recently announced the title of his next film to be Veerame Vaagai Soodum, while also kicking off production on the tentatively titled Vishal 32. It is to be noted that Vishal will be making his directorial debut as well with Thupparivaalan 2, which will see him once again alongside Prasanna, with music by 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraja.
