Vishal's Chakra was announced to release on February 19 and the makers were working at rapid pace towards releasing the film on the said date. However, producer Ravindran of Trident Arts filed a petition against Vishal asking him for compensation for Action's loss. The Madras High Court stayed the release of the film and the release of the film looked uncertain till today. The case came for hearing this morning (February 18) and all the issues have now been sorted out. The Madras High Court has uplifted the ban on the film's release and all decks have been cleared. The film will have a wide release in theatres across India and it will have a dubbed release in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Vishal took to his official Twitter page to share his excitement about the film's release and he will now be a relieved man.

Vishal, in his official statement read, "Truth Always Triumps!! Yes, as always have faced hurdles, issues & have always been true to my self, to my profession & to anything related to the film industry. The stay has been vacated & #Chakra will be released worldwide tomorrow, Feb 19 will be a grand day for Chakra movie in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam & Kannada. Thanks to the Hon High Court for serving the order at the right time keeping the interest of not just the producer but everyone involved in the film & vacating the stay. We are in to release the movie as per schedule, truth always triumps, GB - Vishal.".

Chakra is directed by debutant MS Anandan, a former associate of director S Ezhil and it is produced by Vishal Film Factory. Chakra is touted to be a cyber crime thriller that will be high on action and engagement. The fans are expecting the film to have the flavour of Irumbu Thirai and let us see if the expectations are fulfilled. Chakra features Shraddha Srinath as the female lead, while Regina Cassandra will be seen in an important role. Regina is expected to play the key antagonist in the film and her face off against Vishal is going to be quite exciting.
