Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's Tughlaq Durbar will be the next Tamil film to follow the latest trend of direct television premiere, followed by an OTT release. Films like Pulikkuthi Pandi, Aelay, Mandela, and the recently released Aishwarya Rajesh starrer Boomika, had a direct television premiere after which they were released on streaming platforms. Tughlaq Durbar will also follow the same pattern as it is all set to be premiered on Sun TV on September 10, marking the festive occasion of Vinayaka Chathurthi. The film will be aired on Sun TV on September 10 at 6.30 PM in the evening and one can surely expect the film to attract a solid amount of viewership.

Sun TV is known to be the #1 television channel in Tamil Nadu, and when a yet to be released film like Tughlaq Durbar gets premiered, that too, on a festive day, one can be sure of its humongous viewership. Sun TV officially confirmed the television premiere through a special promo which has now grabbed the attention of the viewers. Those who wouldn't want to watch the film with advertisements or breaks on Sun TV can catch the film on Netflix from September 11, a day after the television premiere. Meanwhile, the official trailer of Tughlaq Durbar is set to release on August 31, and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the same.

Tughlaq Durbar is directed by debutant Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan, a former associate of Balaji Tharaneetharan. Produced by S Lalit Kumar under the banner of 7 Screen Studios, the film has music composed by Govind Vasantha of 96 fame. The film features Raashi Khanna as the female lead, while R Parthiban will be seen playing a crucial role, marking his second outing with Vijay Sethupathi after Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Sathyaraj, Manjima Mohan, Karunakaran, Bagavathi Perumal, and Bigg Boss fame Samyuktha are also a part of the film's star cast. Manoj Paramahamsa and Mahendiran Jayaraju have handled the cinematography, while the editing is taken care of by Govindaraj R.
