One of the most-anticipated ventures of the year, V, marks actor Nani's 25th film and had generated massive curiosity right from the moment it went on floors last year. Written and directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti and produced by Dil Raju under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the action thriller was initially planned for a worldwide theatrical release on March 25, 2020, coinciding with the Telugu New Year. However, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic crisis, those plans were scrapped and V was finally released on the Amazon Prime India (OTT) platform on September 5, 2020.

Apart from Nani being the USP of V, the film has Sudheer Babu and Nivetha Thomas as the lead pair, with Aditi Rao Hydari, Vennela Kishore, Tanikella Bharani, Sakshi Malik among several others in major supporting roles. With the film now in OTT, promotions for the film are being carried forward in a full-fledged manner as the makers have now released the much-awaited 'Manasu Maree' video song, featured on Nani and Aditi Rao Hydari, who plays his love interest. Amit Trivedi has composed the song and sung it along with Shashaa Tirupati and Yazin Nizar, with lyrics penned by Sirivennela Seetharamasastri.

V had created a lot of excitement prior to its release with its action-packed teaser and trailer, especially among Nani fans, who were waiting with eager anticipation to witness the star as a villain. Although the film is turning out to become a hit on the OTT platform, the critical response from fans has been rather mixed, with many lauding Nani's efforts in going full-out in exploiting his acting talents. V includes a stellar technical team among whom include names like P. G. Vinda for the cinematography, while Marthand K. Venkatesh has done the editing.

V has also been highly-awaited among Tamil cinema fans as Nani enjoys a good following in Tamil Nadu after he impressed fans nearly a decade back in SS Rajamouli's Naan Ee (Eega). His previous Telugu film, Gang Leader, featuring Anirudh Ravichander's smash hit music, too was well-received by audiences, with the actor set to be next seen in Tuck Jagadish.
