Cheryl Ann Couto, the Partnerships Manager of Twitter India, had a recent interaction with a media house regarding Twitter trends and how the field of Cinema benefits from it. She mentioned Thala and Thalapathy as two of the most popular trending on the micro-blogging platform and mentioned that Tamil and Telugu movies dominate this field in South Cinema. She also mentioned that Bigg Boss generated a lot of following too. While talking about celebrities, Cheryl Ann mentioned that, "We'd would love to have Ajith on Twitter, especially given how much his fans love engaging with each other".

It would indeed be great if we could see Thala Ajith on social media but it remains highly doubtful that he would take up this invite. Talking about the most active accounts on Twitter from South India, it has been reported that Anirudh, Rakul Preet Singh and Vijay Deverakonda turned out to lead the pack! Ms. Cheryl also mentioned that Tamil is the most used Indian language on Twitter, following English and Hindi and mentioned that Tamil cinema presence will only increase on Twitter, in the coming years!
