Actor Ajith Kumar had a sensational 2019 with two back-to-back blockbusters starting the year off with the rural family drama, Viswasam, under director Siva and following it up with the intense courtroom drama film, Nerkonda Paarvai, directed by Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru fame H. Vinoth. Now, Ajith has kicked off his next big project, Valimai, which incidentally marks the superstar's reunion with director H. Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner after their Nerkonda Paarvai.

With first leg of filming on Valimai at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad wrapped up and shooting currently taking at the Gokulam Studios in Chennai, a new rumor had surfaced on social networking forums stating composer D. Imman has replaced Yuvan Shankar Raja to score the music in the film. That said, sources close to us have now denied the reports as baseless rumors and asserted that Yuvan is indeed a big pillar of Valimai.

There is massive excitement surrounding Valimai as Ajith will be seen in the role of a police officer for the first time after a gap of five years when he donned the khakhi in director Gautham Menon’s Yennai Arindhaal in 2015. Announced for a Diwali 2020 release, Valimai has popular Bollywood actress Yami Gautam is playing the female lead, who will be seen in a Tamil film after starring opposite Jai in Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum in 2016.
