According to the latest developments, Suriya has tested negative for Corona Virus and has recovered from the infection. On February 7, the star actor had posted on his official Twitter page that he tested positive for Covid 19 and asked everyone to stay safe. He shared the news with the people of Tamil Nadu to make everyone aware of the fact that Covid-19 is not yet gone. The news worried Suriya fans and everyone prayed for his speedy recovery. Suriya could not attend the pooja launch event of his film, #Suriya40 with director Pandiraj, since he was in home quarantine and was in the process of recovery.

Earlier this morning (Feb 19), Suriya’s friend and Director of 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Rajsekar Karpoorasundarapandian took to his official Twitter page to share the news that the Vaaranam Aayiram actor tested negative for the virus. Rajsekar’s official tweet read, “.#AnbanaFans Anna tested NEGATIVE, Thank you for all your prayers and wishes @Suriya_offl”. This news has come as a big sigh of relief for the fans of Suriya and it is indeed good to know that Suriya has recovered from the viral infection. Suriya will very soon be joining the sets of #Suriya40, for which the shooting is currently underway. Right now, director Pandiraj is shooting scenes that don’t involve Suriya.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, the film features Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead and has music scored by D Imman. The rest of the star cast includes the likes of Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Devadarshini Chetan, Dhivya Dhuraisamy, Ilavarasu, Subbu Panchu, ‘Master’ Cibi, Saran Shakthi, and others. The film has cinematography by Rathnavelu. Suriya 40 is an action-packed rural entertainer that is touted to appeal big among the family audiences and everyone is eagerly looking forward to seeing Suriya in a rural film.

After completing the film with Pandiraj, Suriya will be joining hands with acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran for Vaadivaasal which has got huge expectations among the fans and film buffs. Vaadivaasal is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under his banner of V Creations and it is based on the novel penned by CS Chellappa. Suriya will next be seen playing the lead in Gautham Menon's directorial segment in Mani Ratnam's production, Madras Talkies.
