Veteran director S.A.Chandrasekhar is known for his acclaimed films like Sattam Oru Iruttarai, Naan Sigappu Manithan, and more. He had last directed the adult comedy film, Capmaari, that starred Jai, Athulya Ravi and Vaibhavi Shandilya in the lead roles. The ace director turned actor is celebrating his 75th birthday tomorrow (July 2) and having said that, he has placed an important request to his well-wishers. Talking through a video, S.A.Chandrasekhar said, "Here is my dear request to all my well-wishers. You people visit me for my birthday every year and go back happily. But, as you all know, it is not practically advisable this year and I request everyone to stay back at your homes. An invisible virus has turned life upside down for everyone and no one is completely happy at this time. Everyone is going through some mixed feelings.

So, I dearly request my followers and well-wishers not to come and visit me for this year's birthday. You are important for your family and you should be there for them. Take care of yourselves and your family. Stay safe." SAC also talked about the Sathankulam custodial death incident which has been the hot topic in the state for the past one week. Talking about that incident, SAC said, "People say that Corona is a deadly virus, but many people have recovered from the infection and returned to normalcy. But, when I heard about the Sathankulam incident, it broke me into pieces. I couldn't even imagine what they would have gone through and I wonder what would be our plight if we had to meet such inhumane police officers.

Just when we were speaking so high about the police officers who risk their lives to protect us during this lockdown, incidents like these totally affects everyone. This shouldn't be forgotten. The police officers who committed the crime should be severely punished. The people of Tamil Nadu will never forget this incident."

On the professional front, SAC will next be seen as an actor in Venkat Prabhu’s directorial, Maanaadu that stars STR in the lead role. SAC is said to be playing a very important role in this political drama that also stars Bharathiraja, S.J.Surya, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaran, Manoj Bharathiraja, and others. Produced by Suresh Kamatchi, Maanaadu has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
