A revelation that has left people across the nation shocked, popular Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has come under fire for hiding her travel details after testing positive for coronavirus upon her return to Lucknow from the United Kingdom last week. Soon after it was revealed that the singer was affected by the COVID - 19 virus, she was taken into quarantine, but has drawn sharp criticism for her negligence considering she had then attended a few parties, which saw many reputable names from various walks of life take part.

Post Kanika Kapoor being sent for quarantine, a police complaint have been filed on the singer for negligence and disobedience to the public order. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Kanika Kapoor at the Sarojini Nagar police station under IPC Sections 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) as stated by Police Commissioner Surjit Pandey.

The FIR on Kanika Kapoor was filed based on a complaint of the Lucknow chief medical officer with two more FIRs expected to be lodged against the singer at the Hazratganj and Gomtinagar police stations as Kanika Kapoor had visited three gatherings since her return from the United Kingdom.
