In a shocking and unexpected turn of events, it has been reported that popular Tamil television serial actress, Chithra, more fondly known as Chithu VJ died by suicide during the wee hours of Wednesday (December 9). According to reports, Chithu was found hanging at a private hotel room in Nazarathpettai, in Chennai. The news has sent shock waves across the state and among the people from the television and film industry. Chithu VJ was widely known among the audience for playing the role of ‘Mullai’ in the superhit ongoing Vijay TV serial, Pandian Stores. The serial gave Chithu the much needed breakthrough and she became one of the most happening heroines in the industry.

She was seen in several advertisements and other shows in Vijay TV, as well. However, her death comes as totally unexpected. The fans are expressing their shock over this incident and we are yet to get more details about her death. It looks like Chithu must have been undergoing some serious problems on her personal front and that could have probably made her take this extreme decision. It is said that Chithu’s body is currently kept at the Kilpauk Medical College’s mortuary and more details are awaited. Chithu was just 28 years old when she decided to take her own life.

It should be noted that Chithu was about to get married in the next few months to Hemanth, a popular entrepreneur. The duo had got engaged and Chithu had posted several pictures and videos with Hemanth on her Instagram page. Chithu was active and posted happy videos even until yesterday night and it is absolutely shocking to know that the talented actress is no more. Let us pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
