Agila Ulaga Superstar Mirchi Shiva will be teaming up with director R Kannan of Jayam Kondan and Ivan Thanthiran fame for a brand new film and the official announcement regarding the project was made, this morning (July 8). This new film will be a remake of the yesteryear classic comedy film, Kasethan Kadavulada which starred Muthuraman, MRR Vasu, Thengai Srinivasan in the lead roles. The film will now be recreated to suit our modern times. Interestingly, Mirchi Shiva will be sharing screen space with two other highly talented actors - Yogi Babu and Oorvasi. Mirchi Shiva will be reprising the role played by Muthuraman, while Yogi Babu will essay Thengai Srinivasan's character. Aachi Manorama's character will be played by Oorvasi.

Karunakaran and a few others are also expected to be a part of this film. R Kannan will also be producing this film under the banner of Masala Pix. Director R Kannan assures that Kasethan Kadavulada (new version) will be a laugh riot and will be widely enjoyed by the audience. The director acquired the remake rights from the makers of the original version and is now all set to begin the shooting. The film will go on floors from July 15 and will be wrapped up in a single schedule that will take place for a span of 35 days. This means that the entire shooting of the film will be fully completed by the third week of August.

R Kannan currently has two different projects ready for release. The first one is Thalli Pogathey which stars Atharvaa, Anupama Parameswaran, and Amitash Pradhan in the lead roles. Thalli Pogathey is the remake of the Telugu romantic drama, Ninnu Kori. R Kannan has also directed the Tamil remake of the recent critically acclaimed Malayalam film, The Great Indian Kitchen. Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul Ravindran play the lead roles in the Tamil remake and the film is currently in the post-production stages.
