It has been quite some time since we saw Madhavan in Tamil cinema and his last release as a lead was Vikram Vedha, which was released in 2017. Maddy’s next release in Kollywood would be Maara, which is the official Tamil remake of Dulquer Salmaan’s Charlie, that was directed by Martin Prakkat. While Maddy will be seen playing the titular role, Shraddha Srinath plays the female lead, reprising Parvathy’s role. The cast also includes the likes of Sshivada, Mouli, and others. A few days back, a section of the media had reported that 50% of the film’s shooting is completed and the rest of the portions would be shot in a single schedule after the lockdown gets relaxed or uplifted.

However, the makers have now officially clarified that the entire shooting of Maara has been wrapped up before the lockdown and the team is looking forward to beginning the post-production process. An official statement from Pramod Films (production house) said, “We are happy to announce that the shooting of Maara, starring R.Madhavan & Shraddha Srinath was completed before the outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic. The post-production work and re-recording will commence soon.
