Ace director Shankar's daughter, Aishwarya entered wedlock in a private ceremony on Sunday (June 27) morning. Aishwarya Shankar got hitched to Rohit Damodharan, who happens to be a cricketer by profession. Rohit is the Captain of the Puducherry Cricket team in the Ranji and also, the captain of the Madurai Panthers team in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). The wedding took place at the outskirts of the city in a private star hotel, in the presence of the families of the couple. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, only a handful of people were invited. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin was also one of the guests, who graced the occasion with his presence and blessed the couple.

Stalin was accompanied by his son and MLA, Udhayanidhi Stalin and Health Minister, MA Subramanian. Earlier this morning (June 28), Shankar took to his official Twitter page to share his thanks note to CM Stalin for gracing the occasion. Shankar's tweet read, "My heartfelt thanks & gratitude to our Hon.Chief Minister @mkstalin for his precious time to grace us with his warm&loving presence at my daughter’s wedding & making it a memorable blessing. Thanks to Health Minister @Subramanian_ma & MLA @Udhaystalin for blessing the couple". Shankar also shared a new picture from the wedding and it has been doing good rounds since this morning.

A grand reception is said to take place in the next few weeks or months when the Covid 19 situation comes under control in the State. We can expect several big-league stars from all the industries to grace the occasion.

Shankar, on the professional front, has three projects in his lineup. He will be teaming up with Telugu star Ram Charan for a Telugu - Tamil bilingual which will be bankrolled by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations. Shankar will also be joining hands with Ranveer Singh for the Hindi adaptation of his blockbuster hit Tamil film, Anniyan. Shankar also has Indian 2 which is currently put on hold due to the ongoing tussle between him and the production house, Lyca Productions.
