Cook with Comali sensation Ashwin Kumar will be making his debut as a lead actor with the upcoming Tamil film, Enna Solla Pogirai. The movie's title was unveiled recently and it garnered good attention on social media. The film is directed by debutant Hari Haran and produced by R Ravindran under the banner of Trident Arts. Hari Haran is known for directing a few television commercials and the popular YouTube series, Ctrl Alt Del. Ashwin got a huge breakthrough after taking part in the second season of Cook with Comali and it made him a widely popular name. His charming screen presence and his fun-loving character were adored by the fans.

The success of Cook with Comali has now given him the opportunity to play the lead role in Enna Solla Pogirai. The film, which will be a romantic drama, is all set to go on floors from July 19 and the pre-production works are happening in full swing. Talking about the project, director Hari Haran said, "The movie is set against the urban backdrops and will be completely shot in Chennai starting from July 19, 2021. As soon as I completed the script works, I approached Trident Arts Ravindran sir to narrate it. He was happy with my narration and suggested that Ashwin would suit perfectly for this role. His judgment was so sound as I felt the same. Ashwin is an actor with a charming charisma and a great performer, who can emote with ease and I am excited to work with him".

Speaking about the title, which is picked from AR Rahman’s evergreen chartbuster number ‘Enna Solla Pogirai’ from Kandukondein Kandukondein, he smilingly adds, "The title has a lot of significance with the script. Besides, it’s my all-time favourite song. The film will be on the lines of beautiful Rom-Coms like Minsara Kanavu and Unnale Unnale. Yes, it’s a triangular love story, and I cannot reveal more than this for now. Vijay TV fame Pugazh will be seen in a role that is more than a comedian. His character has a good substantiality. We are finalizing the heroines for the film and will be making an announcement soon on this".

Enna Solla Pogirai has music composed by Vivek - Mervin while Richard M Nathan will be handling the cinematography.
