The much loved and widely celebrated television reality show, Cook with Comali: Season 2 finally came to an end, yesterday (April 14). The grand finale episode was aired last night and Kani Thiru was declared as the title winner of the show. One of the many personalities who rose to fame through the show is Ashwin Kumar, who is currently the heartthrob for a lot of women. Ashwin got his first-ever breakthrough in his career after participating in Cook with Comali and it made him a household name. The success of Cook with Comali has now given Ashwin his first-ever film opportunity, as a lead hero. Ashwin has earlier featured in brief roles in movies like O Kaadhal Kanmani, but now, following the success of Cook with Comali, Ashwin has bagged a new movie as the lead hero.

Ashwin took to his official Instagram page to make the big announcement about this new project and it has come as a pleasant surprise for the fans. This untitled flick will be directed by debutant Hari Haran and produced by the popular film production house, Trident Arts. Ashwin made the announcement through a video in which he said, "Hello all. Ever since I decided to become an actor, I have been asking myself a question to myself - when will I become a lead hero of a film?. I have finally got an answer to that question. It has happened after the success of Cook with Comali. Yes! I have signed my first film with the Trident Arts banner. The film is directed by Hari Haran. It will be a quality feel-good drama,".

The highlight aspect of this film is that it will have one more Cook with Comali sensation playing an important role. The highly talented and happening star, Pugazh will also be a part of this film and he is touted to play Ashwin's friend. Pugazh was also seen in the film's announcement video and it has excited the fans. Ashwin and Pugazh are one of the most loved combinations and the duo has always made us laugh during the show. We have seen several heartwarming and fun moments of their friendship through Cook with Comali and it is going to be exciting to see them together in a feature film.
