In a shocking incident, popular Bollywood actor Saahil Chadha, known among fans for playing an important role in the 2003 blockbuster, Baghban, and his wife Promila suffered injuries after being hit by an ambulance. The accident had taken place on Wednesday after Saahil and Promila were going back home from a meeting. According to reports, the couple were walking towards their car, which was parked in a lane behind St Xavier’s College, when the ambulance had suddenly struck them from behind. The actor sustained injuries on his stomach and thighs after being dragged for two feet, while his wife suffered two fractures in her leg. 

Saahil has since been admitted to the Bombay Hospital, while Promila has moved to her cousin's place. The actor's injuries are not too serious and is expected to be discharged in another two or three days. Recalling the incident, Saahil said, "The police have nabbed the driver. I practise Buddhism and feel that a big undesirable and much worse incident has been averted in my life. I am under observation for the next few days no doubt, but God has been kind. Whatever happened was extremely shocking and scary." Saahil further stated that he and his wife were mighty lucky as the ambulance driver was driving slowly.

Rising to the limelight in Baghban, Saahil played the role of one of the sons of legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini, with the film also starring Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the lead role. The actor also went on to be seen in films like Thoda Life Thoda Magic in 2008 and Section 375 in 2019.
