In what will come as shocking news to Tamil cinema fans everywhere, the much-awaited Leo audio launch event has been canceled, the team of the 'Thalapathy' Vijay-starrer announced on social media on Tuesday night, September 26. Earlier reports stated that the audio release function of the highly-anticipated film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was well on track to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on September 30 but has now been called off in view of a huge demand for the event passes and safety reasons. The Leo team has further informed that they will keep fans updated on a frequent basis while adding that the decision to call off the audio launch event at the last moment was not due to political pressure or any other reasons.

'Thalapathy' Vijay's manager Jagadish Palanisamy also shared the news on X writing that the decision to not conduct the Leo audio launch has been a hard one while expressing that they too are as disappointed as every fan. Reposting the team's statement, he said, "It is a very hard decision and We feel the same level of disappointment as each one of the fan will go through. Despite working out various options and tremendous effort, we had to take this tough call, considering the extreme overflow in tickets demand and prioritising the safety of the guests" (sic). As disheartening as this latest update about the Leo audio launch will come to Vijay's fans everywhere, we can expect the demand and the pressure for the opening day tickets to skyrocket when the film opens in cinemas on October 19.
