American actress Shailene Woodley and National Football League (NFL) player Aaron Rodgers called it quits a year after announcing their engagement. Woodley, best known for starring in The Fault in Our Stars, and Rodgers, playing quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, have gone their separate ways, a source close to the football star informed People magazine. The source said, "It was an amicable split; it just wasn’t working. They’re very different people with busy careers and there were obstacles that they couldn’t surmount. They will remain friendly; there’s no bad blood and no drama. It just didn’t work out for them".

The news of Rodgers and Woodley's breakup has also been confirmed by multiple sources to Us Weekly, including one citing that they "haven’t been spending any time together". One other source has told Us Weekly, "Shailene has been super busy with work," while adding that the 38-year-old star quarterback is always focused on football. "Everything was so different during lockdown, and they had been living in their bubble. Friends of Shailene didn’t believe Aaron is the best match for her," the source further stated.

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers were first linked after he split from Danica Patrick back in July 2020. The 30-year-old actress' relationship with the football star was confirmed in February 2021 by Us Weekly. Later that month, during his NFL Honors acceptance speech, Rodgers left many excited when he extended his gratitude to his "fiancee". Likewise, Woodley during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon spoke more about their engagement. Rodgers and The Divergent trilogy actress were spotted together for the first time in late March 2021 when they went out for dinner with friends in Arkansas.

On the work front, Shailene Woodley's The Fallout recently opened to acclaim from critics and will next be seen in the thriller film Misanthrope and the sci-fi rom-com Robots; both of which are currently in post-production stages.
