Dulquer Salmaan ventured into production with Varane Avashyamundu which released earlier this year, opening to positive reviews from the critics and general audience. This feel good romantic drama attained popularity among the Tamil audience as well. He produced the film under the banner of Wayfarer Films. Dulquer is now geared up for the release of his second film, as a producer. Yes! DQ's next film as a producer will be the upcoming Malayalam romantic drama, Maniyarayile Ashokan, which is all set for release on August 31, marking the festive occasion of Thiruvonam. The film will skip the theatrical release and stream directly on Netflix platform from the 31st of August.

Dulquer Salmaan made the announcement last night on his Twitter page and wishes have been pouring in from his fans. Dulquer posted, "It is going to be an exciting #Thiruvonam for us at Wayfarer Films as #ManiyarayileAsokan is being released on @NetflixIndia on Monday August 31st. The film is special for a number of reasons and I am super proud of the team that put together this sweet quirky love story.". A lot of notable biggies are being released directly on OTT streaming platforms due to the pandemic and Maniyarayile Ashokan is the latest addition to that list.

This romantic drama features Jacob Gregory and Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles and their pairing looks quite fresh and interesting. Krishna Sankar, Shine Tom Chacko, Anu Sithara, Sunny Wayne, Ramesh Pisharody, Indrans, Vijayaraghavan form the supporting cast. This film is directed by Shamzu Zayba and has music scored by Sreehari K Nair. The cinematography is handled by Sajad Kaakku, while the editing is taken care of by Appu N Bhattathiri. The film's story is penned by Vineeth Krishnan and Magesh Boji. The songs of Maniyarayile Ashokan have received a very good reception from the music lovers and let us hope that the team gets a positive reception for the film as well.

Dulquer Salmaan, as an actor, is awaiting the release of his next film, Kurup, which is based on the real life story of Sukumara Kurup, one of the most wanted criminals in Kerala.
