The Central Government has announced a 21-day lockdown period across the country to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Corona Virus and this has resulted in most of the citizens staying indoors! Though some of us continue to work from home, there are quite a few people who are left wondering as to what to do, to keep themselves occupied! Online & OTT platforms are having quite a boom with hundreds & thousands of people turning to them for entertainment content to kill the time. Now, our National Broadcaster Doordarshan has also entered the fray and is bringing back nostalgia to the people! One of the most popular shows on TV during the 80s and 90s was the mythological epic Ramayana, which was directed by Ramanand Sagar and was telecast on DD from 1987 to 1988 and was later re-telecast on a number of other satellite channels!

There are going to be two episodes being telecast in a day with the first airing in the morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and the next episode being aired in the evening from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm! The Indian minister Prakash Javadekar made the announcement through his Twitter handle after the social media platform was flooded with requests for the rerun!
