Sudha Kongara is a National award-winning director who has worked in multiple languages. The director made her debut in Tamil with the film Drohi featuring Srikanth and Vishnu Vishal. Irudhi Suttru which was also released in Hindi has Saala Khadoos gave a big break for the director. It had R. Madhavan and Ritika Singh in lead roles. She then went on to direct the Telugu film Guru which was a remake of Irudhi Suttru and then directed the film Soorarai Pottru. The film has Suriya in as lead and won many awards including the National Film Awards in multiple categories. She is now working on the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru.

Director Sudha Kongara is a close friend of iconic actor R Madhavan from the time she worked as assistant director for Mani Ratnam. The duo worked together in the hit film Irudhi Suttru. The director posted a photo of herself serving for Madhavan and stated “Two decades of friendship with vankai annam, vadiyalu, podi, sambhar, Vatha kozhambu, thayir sadham, pendalam pachchadi and best dessert ever Ratnagiri Alfonso mangoes courtesy Maddy”. The candid pictures show Madhavan and the director having a small conversation and the actor licking his fingers showing he loved the food too. The recent post of the director Sudha Kongara is winning hearts on social media.
Sudha Kongara is currently working on the Hindi remake of the blockbuster film Soorari Pottru with Akshay Kumar as the lead. The film is set to be released on September 1st and is said to be in the last stages of filming. She also recently posted a picture with Bhavani Sre, the female lead of the recent hit film Viduthalai, who has also acted in Sudha Kongara's Thangam, a segment of the Netflix anthology Paava Kadhaigal.
