Leading Tamil actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu will soon be appearing alongside Bollywood superstar Varun Dhawan in the much-awaited Amazon Prime web series being called Citadel. With production wrapped up already, the duo on Tuesday, January 30, took to social media to drop an update informing fans that they finally got an opportunity to catch a glimpse of highly-anticipated action thriller show directed by Raj & DK of The Family Man fame. Samantha has also posted a story on Instagram in which she is seen at the dubbing studio ready to provide voice to her lines for the portions she shot in Citadel. Tagging Raj & DK, she captioned the picture writing, "Letsss go" along with three fire emojis. The show is billed to be an Indian adaptation of the hit international series of the same title created by the director duo, the Russo Brothers of Avengers fame. There has been quite a lot of buzz surrounding Citadel India ever since it was announced that Samantha would be playing the lead role alongside Varun Dhawan as fans expect her to come out with yet another powerful performance along the lines of her role in the second season of The Family Man, which earned her immense praise. 


Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been on a break for sometime and is at present focusing on her health and recovery after she was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition myositis in 2022. During her sabbatical last year, the actress had two big releases in Telugu - Shaakuntalam and Kushi. Last seen in Tamil in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022) alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara under Vignesh Shivan's direction, fans are looking forward to see her back in action soon, with all eyes now set on Citadel.
