Kamal Haasan has also congratulated the Central and various State governments which took swift action to ensure that the Corona Virus does not spread rapidly. While hailing all these efforts, Kamal has also placed a request for the Central Government. He has mentioned that the tax cuts and deferred credit would help the industrialists & employers while the workforce in the informal sector would not be benefited by it. He has requested that the Government and the Economic Response Task Force, take into consideration the majority of our country's workforce, like the construction workers, agriculturists, manual labourers, fishermen and MSME workers among others and provide some economic relief to them!

In the letter, Kamal Haasan has requested that measures like direct cash transfers to the majority of this populace to help them tide over this crisis! An important line in the letter goes, "fear of the virus should not be compounded by the fear of loss of livelihood." This is a very valid and important request indeed and we hope the Central Government recognises the importance of this and takes the necessary steps at the earliest!
