Popular Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has been in the headlines across the nation over the past few days after it was revealed that she was the first Indian celebrity to test positive for the dreaded coronavirus. Kanika came under a lot of fire from fans and celebrities alike after it was reported that she had hidden her travel history from the concerned authorities upon reaching Lucknow from London after which she had attended a party, which saw nearly 400 people gather among whom were also notable names in Indian politics.

Kanika Kapoor, however, has rejected the allegations saying she had undergone screening at the airport upon her arrival after which she says she had not exhibited any symptoms of COVID - 19. The 'Baby Doll' singer was instructed to go into self-quarantine after her arrival in India, but had instead attended parties, which has led to former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, her son - incumbent MP Dushyant Singh, and Uttar Pradesh's State Minister of Medical and Health, Jai Pratap Singh, to go into quarantine.

Currently in self-isolation, Kanika Kapoor, who is undergoing treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, has now once again reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus, which makes it the third time. As part of her treatment, she's been given a private room which includes a bed, a television and a toilet while also being provided a Gluten-free diet.

Kanika Kapoor is also facing several legal obligations after her negligence to not follow self-quarantine and disobedience to public order led to a FIR being filed last week at the Sarojini Nagar police station under IPC Sections 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).
