Sivakarthikeyan is hard at work for his next film titled DON, which began filming in February earlier this year, and is being directed by newcomer Cibi Chakravarthy, a former associate of Atlee. A joint production venture of Lyca Productions in association with Sivakarthikeyan Productions, the upcoming film is billed to be a fun youth entertainer and is set amidst a college backdrop, with SK playing the role of a student. The Don announcement teaser and a special pooja promo that were released generated massive excitement for the film, which will also feature music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. With the Pollachi schedule completed sometime back and a song shoot carried out in Chennai sometime back, Don director Cibi took to social media to extend his gratitude to Anirudh for his reaction to the visuals after watching the film’s opening song, while also thanking him for the pulsating track. 

Taking to Twitter, Cibi Chakravarthy, for whom Don is his directorial debut, tweeted, "A Day to remember #DON Thanks for your positive words on seeing the opening song visuals and big big thanks for that song @anirudhofficial sir ! It’s going to be a blast in Theatres ! Love you sir". Anirudh, who delivered chart-busters in the 'Thalapathy' Vijay and 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi blockbuster Master earlier this year, is one of the biggest USPs of Don and is once again expected to come out with songs that will strike a chord with the youngsters. ​There are speculations that the song that was picturized recently with Sivakarthikeyan was the opening track in Don, with reports stating that the entire production will come to a wrap in another month's time. There are also videos doing the rounds on social media showing Sivakarthikeyan catching up with the group dancers from the film, with the actor posing along with them for photos. 

Don has Sivakarthikeyan paired with youth sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan, with the duo cast together for the second time after their black comedy film, Doctor, under Nelson Dilipkumar's direction, which is awaiting its release. Apart from SK and Priyanka Mohan, Don's star cast also features names like SJ Suryah, Samuthirakani, Soori, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth Ramadoss, RJ Vijay, including Cooku with Comali and Super Singer fame Sivaangi in pivotal roles.
