For a while now, there have been reports suggesting that Tamil filmmaker-actor R. Parthiban's critically-acclaimed Oththa Seruppu Size 7 released in 2019 is being remade in Hindi with Bollywood superstar Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. It had been stated that filming on the Oththa Seruppu Hindi remake was being carried out in Chennai over the past few days, with Parthiban taking to social media on Tuesday to announce in a tweet that the upcoming film's shooting has been half completed. Furthermore, the National Award-winning director shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Abhishek from a scene in the Oththa Seruppu Size 7 Bollywood remake. 

Showering praises on Abhishek Bachchan in the shooting carried out for the Oththa Seruppu Size 7 remake so far, Parthiban tweeted that the actor doesn't have any ego nor pride and is always alert during filming. He added that Abhishek is striving to take his acting to the "next level", while also informing that the film is his first in Hindi. He concluded the tweet saying the film's technical crew includes cinematographer Ramji, music director Sathya and editor Sudharsan from Tamil Nadu. It is to be noted that Abhishek Bachchan had recently suffered an injury on the sets, which he stated on Instagram was during a film's shoot in Chennai, with many speculating that it was the Oththa Seruppu remake. Written and directed by Parthiban, Oththa Seruppu Size 7's story revolves around one character, who is suspected of murder and questioned by the police. The actor-director is the only character seen throughout the film, with many hailing him for his interesting filmmaking, screenplay and dialogues. Accolades bestowed on the film include the National Film Award for Best Audiography, including a Special Jury Award.
