Tamil actor Kishen Das has announced that he has gotten engaged to his "best friend" Suchitrha Kumar. Known best for among Tamil cinema fans for playing the lead role in Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee (2022), the popular star made the big announcement on social media on Thursday, March 28, about his engagement, while also posting pictures and videos of the couple exchanging rings and singing for each other at the private ceremony. Kishen, son of theatre and television actor Brinda Das, also revealed that the events leading up to his engagement played out similar to the blockbuster Dhanush and Nithya Menen-starrer Thiruchitrambalam (2022). 

Sharing the joyous news on Instagram, Kishen wrote, "She didn’t say no ❤️💍Saw Thiruchitrambalam play out in real life as I got engaged to my best friend ❤️" (sic) While the first photo shows the couple all smiles and embracing each other, the second picture has them exchanging their engagement rings. Likewise, Suchitrha is seen singing the Malayalam song 'Vennila Chandana Kinnam' from the Mammootty-starrer Azhakiya Ravanan (1996) in the first video, while Kishen also croons his heart out to 'Maruvaarthai' from Enai Noki Paayum Thota (2019) in the next clip. Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the young couple in the comments section of their Instagram post, with Tamil film fraternity stars Gautham Karthik, Manjima Mohan, Gouri G. Kishen Das made his first big-screen appearance in Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's blockbuster Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) before making his lead debut in Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee, which came out as a direct streaming release and went on to be well-received. He then played the lead in the Tamil horror-thriller film Sync (2023), which also came out on streaming, and was recently seen in the RJ Balaji's coming-of-age entertainer Singapore Saloon
