'SK 21': Netflix Makes A Big Announcement, Streamer Says

Leading Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan's next big film, the tentatively titled SK 21, will stream on Netflix after its theatrical release, the global streaming giant announced on Wednesday, January 17, as part of their Pongal 'Netflix Pandigai' special. The leading OTT player informed fans on social media that the film has SK getting ready for a battle unlike any he has faced before on the big screen. Netflix wrote, "Sivakarthikeyan is gearing up for a battle like never before ???? #Sivakarthikeyan21 is coming soon on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi after theatrical release!  #NetflixPandigai" (sic)

This latest SK 21 update has come at a time when Sivakarthikeyan and his fans are beaming with pride and joy as his recent big-budget science-fiction film, Ayalaan, has emerged triumphant at the box office. The upcoming film being directed by Rajkumar Periasamy of Rangoon (2017) fame will see Sivakarthikeyan sport different looks for his character and has him paired with leading actress Sai Pallavi, while the songs and the background score are being composed by National Award winner G. V. Prakash Kumar. With this latest announcement from Netflix out, fans now expect the SK 21 first look and title announcement to come out soon in the days ahead. 

There has been quite a lot of buzz surrounding SK 21 and fans are looking forward to yet another big entertainer from Sivakarthikeyan, who has been riding the wave with the success of Maaveeran (2023), while kicking off 2024 on a high note with Ayalaan. Neither the title nor a glimpse have been released yet, with a lot of secrecy maintained during the first stages of filming surrounding Sivakarthikeyan's character in the film, which is being planned for a grand theatrical release this year. The actor last December surprised fans in a clean-shaven appearance and looking years younger, while revealing that it was for his role in SK 21
