Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna starred together in Dear Comrade which released on July 26, 2019, opening to positive reviews from the critics and the fans. Directed by Bharat Kamma (in his directorial debut), Dear Comrade was a beautifully written love story that also talked about comrade and communism. The performances of the lead actors (Vijay and Rashmika) received unanimous praise and it also turned out to be a memorable outing for them. The film had music scored by Justin Prabhakaran who delivered a chartbuster album.

Following the success of the film, Dear Comrade is set to be remade in Hindi. News already broke that the popular director and producer Karan Johar had acquired the remake of the film. Ever since the remake announcement was made, many names have been popping up on social media to play the lead roles in the film. The Dhadak pair Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor are one of few names that made exciting topics.

The latest name in consideration to play the lead in the Hindi remake of Dear Comrade is none other Kartik Aryan. There are also reports that the makers are planning to make small changes to the script to attract the North Indian audience. An official announcement is expected to be made once the makers finalise the cast of the film.

Kartik Aryan made his debut in the 2011 film Pyaar Ka Punchnama and has grown into a notable name in Bollywood. The actor was last seen in the film Love Aaj Kal alongside Sara Ali Khan. The actor also has some interesting projects in his bag in the name of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2 which are at various stages of production.
