Vijay Sethupathi won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor (Male) and this is his first National Film Award. Super Deluxe marked the return of director Thiagarajan Kumararaja who made a striking debut with Aaranya Kaandam in 2010. The film opened to highly positive reviews from the critics and general audience and the film was raved for its impressive performances from the lead actors. While Vijay Sethupathi played one of the leads, the film also featured Samantha Akkineni, Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Bagavathi Perumal, Gayathrie, Mirnalini Ravi, Ashwanth Ashok Kumar, as the other leads. 

Super Deluxe was a hyper link cinema that had four different stories converging into one climax. The film had music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the cinematography was handled by Nirav Shah and PS Vinod. Sathyaraj Natarajan handled the film's editing. Super Deluxe turned out to be a visual treat for film buffs and it left a good impact among the audience. The film's screenplay was penned by 4 writers - Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy, and Neelan K Sekar. The film had a grand theatrical release through the banner of Sashikanth's Y NOT X Studios.
