For the last few days, there have been wide speculations regarding the release plans of Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming action thriller, Liger. Reports claimed that a leading OTT platform has initiated talks with the makers of Liger for a direct digital release and it was also added that the platform has offered to buy the film for a whopping amount of Rs. 200 Crores. However, it looks like there is no truth to the news. Vijay Deverakonda shared the image carrying the OTT release rumour and mentioned that the offer money is too little. He also added that the film would collect more in the theatres. Vijay Deverakondas tweet read, "Too little. I’ll do more in the theaters".
This reply has gone viral among the fans and it indeed shows the confidence that Vijay has over him and his film. The fans are also calling this to be a thug-life reply and it has garnered good attention among the netizens. Through this reply, Vijay Deverakonda has also managed to deny the OTT speculations, assuring that the film will come out only in theatres. Liger is directed by blockbuster filmmaker, Puri Jagannadh and it is being made as a pan Indian film. Liger is an intense action drama that is produced by Charmme Kaur and Puri Jagannadh under the banner of Puri Connects, in association with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
The film has music composed by Mani Sharma and Tanishk Bagchi. The young and sensational Ananya Panday plays the female lead, while Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy would be seen in crucial roles. The film is currently scheduled to release in theatres on September 9, but the plan might change depending upon the Covid 19 situation in the coming days. Liger has been originally shot in Telugu and Hindi, and it will have a dubbed release in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film is currently in the post-production stages.
