Music director D Imman won his first-ever National Award for his blockbuster hit songs in Ajith's Viswasam and the news has created a huge buzz on social media. The winners of the 67th National Film Awards were announced recently and several notable talents bagged the National honour. D Imman was awarded the National Award for the songs, while the Best Music Director for Background Music was awarded to Prabuddha Banerjee for his score in the Bengali film, Jyeshthoputro. Wishes have been pouring in for D Imman for all quarters and the leading star heroes from the Tamil film industry have also expressed their heartfelt wishes to Imman.

Superstar Rajinikanth, Thalapathy Vijay, and Thala Ajith have wished D Imman personally on the National Award win and the talented composer took to his official Twitter page to share his happiness. An emotionally moved D Imman wrote, "Elated with our dear Superstar Rajini sir's kind gesture to make a call and congratulate on winning the award! Also deeply humbled with our dear Vijay Annan's and our dear Ajith sir's personal wishes! My musical journey kickstarted with Thamizhan for Vijay annan! And it becomes so special when he himself wishes for Viswasam's recognition".

D Imman and Vijay have worked together in Thamizhan and Jilla and the songs in both the movies turned out to be chartbuster hits. With Ajith, Viswasam was D Imman's first outing and it turns out that their first-ever collaboration bags a National Award.

D Imman is currently one of the leading composers in Tamil cinema who has several exciting projects in his lineup. Imman is the music director for Superstar Rajinikanth's highly anticipated Annaatthe, directed by Siva and produced by Sun Pictures. Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has sung the intro song in the film and the fans are eagerly looking forward to listening to it. D Imman is also working on Suriya's next film with director Pandiraj under the production of Sun Pictures. After working with Pandiraj in Kadai Kutty Singam and Namma Veettu Pillai, D Imman will be looking forward to a hat-trick with Suriya 40.
