Galatta Media is one of the leading names known for organising incredible events. They recently organised a grand Fans Festival for notable director Vignesh Shivan. The director made his debut with the film Podaa Podi and then did multiple films and his recent release was Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. The director Vignesh Shivan backed the creative side of 44th Chess Olympiad that happened in Chennai. As it was the talk of the town last year, the director shared some exciting information about the event in the fans festival.

As a part of the Chess Olympiad, the famous Napier Bridge that stands as an icon of Chennai was painted Black and White resembling a chess board, which became a huge hit. The well-known reviewer and actor Prashanth Rangaswamy arrived as a special guest and asked some intriguing questions at the fans festival organised by Galatta Media. As the reviewer asked what was the idea behind it?, Vignesh Shivan said “I gave them some ideas, among them were this Napier bridge, Kathipara Junction and changing lighthouse like a chess coin. The central government did not allow us to paint it in one colour. But, this (Napier Bridge) happened immediately because the CM and CM secretaries accepted it. Overnight, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the sports minister, and the PWD minister approved it. We had a mock design to show how Napier Bridge will look if we paint it in the back and white as a video reference and we showed it in a meeting. During the meeting, Udhay sir, Apoorva IAS mam, and other Chief secretaries were all there, with AR Rahman. Sir asked How it would be possible. I said if they give permission we can do it sir'. Because of the speedy approval, we did it immediately. After that, we shot the video with A.R. Rahman and CM on the bridge."

Vignesh Shivan further explained that"Even the opening ceremony event was suppose to happen in Chepauk Stadium but because of weather conditions, we had to shift to Nehru Stadium. Before 10 days, we had to change but we thought we could give the same feel. Then, we thought of presenting Tamil Nadu civilisation as many would not know how and where the civilisation came from and we thought of presenting it as an audiovisual. Over 2000 international chess players will be presented at the event so I thought we could do about Tamil civilisation. I wanted technology support and so we teamed up with Creative Factory, who also did the Dubai Expo. so we made the floor as the stage and we used the 3D mapping that is done with several projectors." He then explained the nuances of the event and said nearly 100 people worked in it. It had 20 minutes of music and featured Kamal Haasan sir voice, explained the director.
