'Superstar' Rajinikanth dropped the bombshell announcement yesterday (March 12) saying he would not be contesting for the Chief Minister designation in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election, which has brought in diverse opinions among the common folk and political analysts. The veteran actor's statements about the need for a revolutionary change and how he would make his entry into politics thereafter is now the talk of the town.
Post Rajinikanth's statements, many have expressed their views on the development including comedy superstar Vadivelu being asked about the decision during his visit to the Tiruchendur Temple. Vadivelu had addressed the press gathered at the Tiruchendur Temple saying in his trademark humorous style that neither he nor the press or Rajinikanth himself know when he would launch his political party. That said, Vadivelu lauded Rajinikanth's decision about being a backbone and lending support in the form of dual leadership.
Lovingly called as 'Vaigai Puyal', Vadivelu further added on a sarcastic note that he too has ambitions to become the Chief Minister while also asking the crowd gathered including the media if they would vote for him. With many giving their approval, an ecstatic Vadivelu signed off in his Thalainagaram style voice modulation saying, "I'm going to become the CM in 2021,". Vadivelu had starred alongside Rajinikanth in Chandramukhi and Kuselan and will next be seen in Kamal Haasan's Thalaivan Irukkindran featuring music by A. R. Rahman. Check out Vadivelu in sarcastic mode about his political plans in the tweet below:
