'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's next film's title Thug Life was revealed in a special announcement video on Monday evening, November 6, and has been the talk of the town. Released as a birthday treat for the iconic Tamil actor's fans, the film's first action-packed visuals have been getting a phenomenal response on social media. Thug Life marks the big reunion of Kamal Haasan with acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Mani Ratnam after their Nayakan (1987), with the title announcement video also gaining rave reviews from many in the film fraternity, including blockbuster director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who took to social media to share his review of the visuals, while showering praise on the film's entire team.

Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote on X about the Thug Life title announcement teaser that it showcases a "fiery spirit", "bold narrative", and "explosive visuals" while declaring that it is "an absolute blast of a reveal from the dynamic trio" of Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, and the film's music composer Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. Extending his advance birthday wishes to Kamal Haasan, the Leo director also congratulated the cast and crew of the upcoming Tamil film, which is touted to be an intense action gangster drama. Having collaborated previously with Kamal Haasan in Vikram (2022), fans have been commenting on Lokesh Kanagaraj's latest post and sharing their wish to see the duo collaborate for Vikram 2 soon.

Kamal Haasan recently reprised his role as Vikram in a voice-only cameo in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's blockbuster Leo thereby setting the stage for a meeting between the two powerhouse characters in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). With Lokesh Kanagaraj recently revealing his plans for Kaithi 2 with Karthi, a standalone film on Suriya's character Rolex from Kaithi (2019), and Vikram 2 with Kamal Haasan, including the possibility of Leo 2 with Vijay once again in the future, the excitement for the LCU just keeps getting bigger by the day, with fans now waiting for the hit director to complete the tentatively titled Thalaivar 171 with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth next. Thug Life, on the other hand, will see Kamal Haasan share screen space with Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Dulquer Salmaan, among others, and is expected to come out in cinemas in grand style in 2024.
