The Lovebirds is directed by Michael Showalter and the screenplay is written by Aaron Abrams and Brendan Gall. The story of the film is written by Abrams, Gall and Martin Gero. This movie is bankrolled by Tom Lassally, Oliver Obst, Todd Schulman and Jordana Mollick under the banners of Paramount Pictures, MRC, 3 Arts Entertainment and Quinn's House. The Lovebirds is about a couple (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) who experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they are unintentionally embroiled in a murder mystery. As their journey to clear their names takes them from one extreme, hilarious, circumstance to the next, they must figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the night.
The film was initially scheduled for release on April 3, 2020, but was delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. And now, it has been announced that the film will now premiere on May 22, 2020, on the online platform Netflix. Check out the trailer of the film below,
