Blockbuster filmmaker Pa. Ranjith has shared updates for his next film, Thangalaan, starring National Award-winning Tamil actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram. Addressing the press on Friday, October 20, the hit director revealed that updates for the highly-anticipated period action drama film will start coming out by next week. Pa. Ranjith further informed that the much-awaited Thangalaan teaser is ready and is expected to be released next week. National Award-winning composer G. V. Prakash Kumar also chimed in on X revealing that the teaser has come out extraordinarily well and will create a "sambavam" soon.

Billed to be a period venture set in the pre-Independence era in the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka, Vikram has undergone a radical physical transformation for his role in Thangalaan, with the title announcement promo and a video featurette giving audiences a glimpse into the massive efforts he has put in for his character's look. Scheduled to come out in theatres worldwide in a grand manner in 2024, there are tremendous expectations for Vikram's Thangalaan and fans expect Pa. Ranjith to deliver yet another thought-provoking film.

Pa. Ranjith's Thangalaan will see Vikram sharing the screen alongside an ensemble star cast featuring the likes of Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Malavika Mohanan, Madras fame Harikrishnan Anbudurai, while English actor Daniel Caltagirone has been cast as the antagonist. Thangalaan was wrapped up back in July, with Vikram sharing pictures from the sets, while also expressing his joy at being a part of the ambitious film for which he had shot for more than 100 days. At the time, he wrote on X, "And it’s a wrap!! What a journey!!  Worked with some of the most amazing people & had some of the most evocative experiences as an actor.  Was it just 118 working days between the first pic & the last.  Thank you Ranjit for making us live this dream. Every single day." (sic)
