Leading Tamil actor Vijay, addressed fondly by fans as 'Thalapathy', announced the launch of his political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam, on Friday, February 2. In a detailed press note, the superstar informed that his party will not make its electoral debut in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, but instead contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. This latest announcement from Vijay about the launch of his Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam political party has been met with a warm reception from fans, who have been extending their wishes on social media, with videos also showing many leading the celebrations across various parts of Tamil Nadu. 

With all speculations surrounding Vijay's political entry coming to an end now, several leading Tamil cinema celebrities have also congratulated him on his latest big decision on social media. Among the notable names who have shared their wishes to the Leo actor include actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrence, who previously made an appearance alongside him in Thirumalai (2003). The Jigarthanda DoubleX star posted Vijay's announcement on X and wrote, "Congratulations Nanba on your political entry. I pray god for your success in this new journey 💐💐 @actorvijay" (sic) 

Reputed producer Archana Kalpathi, who is bankrolling Vijay's upcoming film, The Greatest of All Time, also shared her excitement and congratulated the actor on his political entry. She wrote, "You have always inspired us to climb higher and keep raising the bar. A warm welcome and best wishes for this new journey Sir 🙌🏼🙏" (sic)

Filmmaker Atlee, who worked with Vijay in blockbusters Theri (2016), Mersal (2017), and Bigil (2019), wished the actor on his journey into politics. He wrote, "Congratulations Anna  👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️" (sic)

Director Nelson Dilipkumar, who collaborated with Vijay in Beast (2022), reposted the actor's Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam political party launch announcement in his wishes. He wrote, "Congratulations and all the very best @actorvijay sir 🤗❤️  #TVKVijay" (sic)

Composer Anirudh Ravichander has also conveyed his hearty wishes to Vijay on the launch of his Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam political party. He reposted the actor's statement and wrote, "Congratsss and all the best dearest @actorvijay sir ❤️❤️❤️" (sic)

National Award-winning director Cheran extended his regards to Vijay writing, "May your efforts rise with the support of well-intentioned thinkers, their planning, and the efforts of countless thinkers.. Congratulations." 

Jigarthanda DoubleX director Karthik Subbaraj was one of the first Tamil cinema celebrities to extend his wishes to Vijay on his new journey. He wrote, "Warm Welcome & All the very best @actorvijay sir 👍👍  #தமிழகவெற்றிகழகம்" (sic) 

Actor Sibiraj, who wished Vijay on his decision to launch his own political party, expressed his feelings about not being able to see him in films anymore, but reiterated that people like him should become leaders on the world stage. He posted, "I wholeheartedly salute to Thalapathy @actorvijay anna for keeping his word and taking the plunge to enter politics.Even though as a fan  I will miss watching his films on the big screen,I support his decision  as the world needs leaders like him.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 #தமிழகவெற்றிகழகம்" (sic)

Sharing Vijay's signature from his announcement about his Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam political party, filmmaker-screenwriter Rathna Kumar wrote in his post, "#தலைவர்விஜய் 💥❤️" (sic). 

Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who played the antagonist in Vijay's Sarkar, also showed her excitement for his latest announcement. Reposting his statement, she wrote, "Woooohoooooooo" (sic). 

Actor Kavin kept his wishes to Vijay to the point over his Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam party announcement and wrote, "Welcome sir @actorvijay 🙏🏼♥️" (sic)

Likewise, actor Harish Kalyan congratulated Vijay writing, "Vaazhthukkal anna 🔥🔥🔥" (sic)

Director Thiru of Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai (2010), Samar (2013), Naan Sigappu Manithan (2014), and Mr. Chandramouli (2018) to name a notable few, complimented Vijay with his greetings and wrote in Tamil, "சபாஷ் 🔥" (sic)

Actress Kasturi Shankar too chimed in saying Vijay's political entry has come at an interesting time and pondered over whether he will bring in a change. She wrote, "Welcome Thalapathy Vijay. He comes into TN politics at a very interesting time. Perhaps the best time. Can he make a real difference? In recent history, many superstars have disappointed in politics.
