Silambarasan TR's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu under Gautham Menon’s direction kicked off its third schedule in Mumbai earlier this week. Being produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh's Vels Film International banner and featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, it has now been revealed that popular American stunt choreographer Lee Whittaker, who has worked in Hollywood blockbusters like Fast Five (Fast & Furious franchise) and The Spy Next Door, has now wrapped his portions in the ongoing schedule for Simbu's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. Lee, who has previously worked in Tamil blockbusters like 'Thala' Ajith's Arrambam, 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam, 'Supertar' Rajinikanth's Lingaa, including the magnum opus Baahubali franchise films, took to Twitter to share a photo of himself from the upcoming STR-Gautham Menon's film shooting spot to share the update.

Lee Whittaker tweeted, "Last evenings night shoot Mumbai wraps my portion for first schedule. Such amazing positive experience working with @gauthamvasudevmenon and his amazing crew of professionals and extremely talented actors. Look forward to the second schedule w/these fine people. So grateful". The addition of a technician of Lee's caliber is no doubt a massive boost for the Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu team as it has been reported that the film has several intense action sequences for Simbu fans, including one that was shot sometime back in Chennai during the second schedule. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu marks the third-time collaboration for Silambarasan with Gautham Menon and A. R. Rahman after their Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. So far, iconic Tamil actress Radikaa Sarathkumar and Paava Kadhaigal fame Aangelina Abraham are the only cast members apart from Simbu to have been revealed to be a part of the film, with an announcement on the heroine yet to be made. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu has a talented technical team on board among whom are Siddhartha Nuni handling the cinematography, Anthony taking care of the editing and Rajeevan for the art direction.
