Sivakarthikeyan's next film titled Don began rolling in February earlier this year and marks the directorial debut of Cibi Chakravarthy, a former associate of blockbuster Tamil director Atlee. An announcement teaser for Don had been released ahead of the film's launch earlier this year, with the film being jointly produced by Lyca Productions in association with Sivakarthikeyan Productions and featuring music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. In the meantime, production on Don has been proceeding forward in a full-fledged manner over the past few days at Anamalai, with the team now facing an unexpected roadblock.

According to reports, the Coimbatore Police has registered a case against 31 members of the Don unit for the violation of the COVID-19 safety protocols, while also issuing a fine. A large crowd had gathered to watch Sivakarthikeyan and the film's cast at the Don shoot in Mukkonam by the banks of River Aliyar on Sunday, which was in direct violation of the social distancing protocols. It is being stated that the team had not acquired permission from the concerned authorities to carry the shooting. Now, the Revenue Department has levied a fine of Rs. 19,400/- on the film's crew for not adhering to the COVID-19 norms.
